I genuinely wish there were more choices in the middle and I hope that Sims 5 will find that balance. Maxis Match CC, Alpha Hair, New Meshes, Recolors, Retextures. Separated and edited the baby hairs from the hair that came in the High School Years expansion pack. Creators like AH00B and Simstrouble have really mastered that style and improved upon it. I then got used to it and have been playing for years with that clay hair, gradually leaning more toward cc. The base game hair really leaves something to be desired and the childish cartoon style felt like a radical switch from Sims 3.
